Hootie Goes Country

September 2, 2008 by Heather

42nd Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards All-Star Jam

Darius Rucker, best known as the lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish, has gone country! His newest single, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” is from his upcoming country album Learn To Live, which will drop September 16th.

The single has reached Top 20 on the country charts, making him the first African-American singer to reach Top 20 on the country charts since Charley Pride in 1988!

This isn’t Rucker’s first exposure to country music, though - he was a backup singer on Keith Urban’s 2003 hit, “Raining on Sunday.”
