John Michael Montgomery to Form His Own Label

John Michael Montgomery announced Monday that he’s forming his own record label, called Stringtown Records. His next album, already in production, will be the first to be released on the label. When that’s finished he’ll begin looking for other artists to sign.
His reason for starting his own label is the “appeal of creative control, success of Indie labels and the ability to nurture country music’s future artists. I have always been intrigued with the production side of this business, and I want to give others an opportunity like I’ve had. Every aspect of my career has prepared me for this new venture.”
Stringtown Records was named after a small community in Kentucky, near his home: “The town has all the necessities a guy like me would ever want - a place to fix your truck, a few other amenities and neighbors to help ya out if ya need it. That’s how I’d like my label to be - a nice community with people who care about what they’re doing. As I traveled back and forth to my farm, it always crossed my mind that it would be a great name if I ever started my own label.”

i have always been a big fan of JMM and would love the chance to work with him and perform for/on his label. i have ten songs ready for print that were produced by Jim Vest(no introduction needed)so no cost needed on that end. i’m willing to do what it takes to get where i want to be. Being the first artist signed to this label would be a goal reached, dream come to fruition, and what a kick start to be affiliated with a bonafide star in this industry.
