Julianne Hough’s Debut Album Released

Julianne Hough is already well-known from Dancing with the Stars, in which she puts her professional ballroom training to good use as the youngest performer ever on the show. She won the overall title her first year with the show for coaching her dance partner Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno.
She’s breaking out into the country music scene now with her debut self-titled album, which was released this Tuesday and is available at stores everywhere and Amazon.com.
I got my hands on a copy and I’ve really enjoyed it! I don’t watch Dancing with the Stars so I really didn’t know who she was before the CD showed up in my mailbox, but I’m glad it did because I’m a new fan!
The album has 11 tracks, including her current single “That Song in My Head.” I really enjoyed the catchy “You, You, You,” and the beautiful ballad “Hide Your Matches.” I also liked “Jimmy Ray McGee,” which is about choices made early on in life, and it ended up giving me goosebumps. I think it’d make a great single!
“About Life” will probably ring true for just about anyone, as could “Hello” which is about giving the same advice over and over to someone who just won’t listen (”If you’re gonna keep fishing in a pool of shallow water” - love it!). “Help Me, Help You” gets a little preachy but is one that might leave you tearing up, and “Love Yourself” is another advice-giver for a friend who makes a wrong choice.
Julianne will be joining Brad Paisley on his summer concert tour this summer, along with Jewel and Chuck Wicks, and she has been chosen to sing the National Anthem at this year’s Indy 500 race!
Julianne also appeared on Good Morning America this morning, performing “That Song In My Head.”
