Lorrie Morgan Files for Bankruptcy

October 28, 2008 by Heather

lorrie morgan

For the second time, Lorrie Morgan has filed for bankruptcy in federal court listing estimated liabilities between $1 million and $10 million and assets of $500,000 to $1 million. Her first filing was in 1992 with a Chapter 11.

Morgan said the recent Chapter 7 bankruptcy is “an unfortunate yet necessary part” of the restructuring of her business:

“It’s very important to me that my fans and business associates understand that I’m OK. Today’s economic times have affected many American families and businesses. I, along with many of you, am not immune to this fact. I would appreciate the courtesy of my friends and fans respecting my privacy regarding this matter.”

Though this is sad — I’ve been a fan of Lorrie Morgan for many years and it’s always rough to hear that someone you admire going through hard times — you’ve got to wonder what was going on that she ended up $1 million-plus in the hole!

Yes! Finally!! Patty Loveless is getting set to release a new CD - I’m so excited about this I can’t even tell you!

Even though it’s “only” a covers album, this 19th release from Patty (and the first in three years) promises to be as good as any of her other work. It’s titled “Sleepless Nights” and will hit stores September 9.

Husband Emory Gordy Jr. helped produce it and the release marks Patty’s first release with an indie label (one-month-old Saguaro Road Records) after twelve years at Epic Records.

The album will feature 14 classic country hits that they pulled from a pool of nearly 500, and will include:

1. Why Baby Why
2. The Pain of Loving You
3. He Thinks I Still Care
3. Sleepless Nights
4. Crazy Arms
6. There Stands the Glass
7. That’s All It Took
8. Color of the Blues
9. I Forgot More Than You’ll Ever Know
10. Next In Line
11 Don’t Let Me Cross Over
12. Please Help Me I’m Falling
13. There Goes My Everything
14. Cold Cold Heart

About the album, Patty says, “Emory and I were talking over dinner about recapturing some of these moments from my youth because I want to inspire and remind people of what country is made of. It takes me back especially to my brother, Roger, and my sister, Dottie, and the music they loved. It’s a little bit of a history lesson, but I think once you hear the songs, the stories, you’re going to be drawn to it. People lived a little differently then, but at the same time, there’s a lot more in common (with today) than people would think.”

Tim McGraw Subdues Rowdy Fan

June 26, 2008 by Heather

During a Tim McGraw concert in Washington State on Tuesday night a drunk fan allegedly starting pushing his way to the front of the stage and in the process knocked over a female fan.

Tim McGraw saw this and called for security but when they didn’t arrive quickly enough he took matters into his own hands - literally! Reaching down in the crowd he pulled the concert-goer up onto stage where on-stage security quickly whisked him away, but not before Tim is seeing cocking his arm back as if to really subdue the guy if need be!

The topping on the cake - Tim was in the middle of performing “Indian Outlaw,” and after the kerfuffle immediately started back up with the line “I ain’t lookin’ for trouble.”

Tim McGraw Announces Next Album Release

June 23, 2008 by Heather

tim mcgraw, new album

Tim McGraw has announced he’ll be releasing his next album this fall! At least, that’s what he told concert-goers this past Saturday at the Mandalay Bay here in Las Vegas. There has been no official word from anyone else but I guess he would know, right?

He played three new songs, possibly from the album, during the concert: “Still,” “Southern Voices (or Boys)” and “You Had To Be There.” The last is about a father who goes to visit his song after not being in his life.

The venues for Tim’s “Live Your Voice” tour can be seen here.

faith hill

Faith Hill is gearing up to release her first Christmas album this September!

The long-awaited album will contain 10 Christmas classics like “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” “Holly Jolly Christmas,” and “Silent Night,” and one original song called “A Baby Changes Everything.”

Faith has been working on the album, titled “Joy to the World,” for two years and says:

“I had a very clear vision for the type of Christmas album that I wanted to make,” said Hill. “Indicative of the big band orchestras of the ’40s and ’50s, with a full compliment of horns, stings, woodwinds, percussion and chorales. David’s orchestrations were a gift. They embodied everything that I could have imaged; unique and beautiful, and yet they seem as though they were always intended for these songs.”

The album is set to drop September 16.

The full track list includes:

1. Joy To The World
2. What Child Is This
3. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
4. Little Drummer Boy
5. O Come All Ye Faithful
6. Holly Jolly Christmas
7. Away In A Manger
8. O Holy Night
9. Winter Wonderland
10. Silent Night
11. A Baby Changes Everything
