Wynonna Clarifies Taylor Swift Comment

Outspoken country artist Wynonna Judd quipped last week that she thought it was “too soon” for 19-year-old Taylor Swift to have been awarded the top award at last week’s CMA Awards when she was presented with the Entertainer of the Year.
Wynonna says now that she didn’t mean to take away from Taylor’s win and that Taylor has made some great contributions to country music in her short time in the spotlight:

Wynonna Judd Says It’s Too Soon for Taylor Swift

US Weekly is saying that Wynonna Judd has said it was too soon for Taylor Swift to have won the Entertainer of the Year award at last night’s 43rd Annual Country Music Association awards.
Taylor, who, at 19, is the youngest artist to ever win the award, swept the show last night with wins in every category she was nominated in, including Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Music Video of the Year.

Keith Urban at the BMI Awards

Keith Urban and his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, were spotted at the 2009 Country BMI Awards last night in Nashville, Tennessee.
Keith is up against George Strait, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, and Tayor Swift for Entertainer of the Year at tonight’s CMA Awards, and about the award, he says:
“It’s not gender based, and it takes into account all the things we do in a year – making records and playing concerts and being artists. It’s always been a real prize.”

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood on GMA

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be performing together on Good Morning America on Tuesday, November 10 live from Nashville on ABC.
The two, who will once again host this year’s CMA Awards, will perform live from Sommet Center’s outside plaza at the corner of Broadway and Fifth Avenue in Nashville, and is presented by Chevrolet.
The concert is free and open to the public and is in conjunction with the 43rd Annual CMA Awards, airing Wednesday, November 11 from 8-11 p.m.

Dale Earnhardt Jr to Present at CMA Awards

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be making a stop as a presenter at the November 11 Country Music Association Awards.
Earnhardt is part of a round of presenters announced by the CMA for ceremony, which will air on ABC. Others include LeAnn Rimes, Kellie Pickler, Julianne Hough, and nominees Randy Houser and Jake Owen.
They join the previously announced performers, who include Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney (with Dave Matthews), Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Sugarland, George Strait, Zac Brown Band and Vince Gill (with Daughtry).

43rd Annual CMA Nominations

The 43rd Annual Country Music Association nominees were announced this past weekend on ABC by Lee Ann Womack and Darius Rucker.
There are a lot of familiar names on the list, and Brad Paisley is leading the pack with a grand total of seven nominations. Taylor Swift managed to break into the “boys club” for Entertainer of the Year, something that Carrie Underwood managed to do earlier this year at the ACM Awards. A female has not been nominated for Entertainer of the Year in the CMAs since Faith Hill in 2000.

Set your DVRs! The Country Music Association has said they’ll be announcing the nomations for the 43rd Annual CMA Awards on September 9th during Good Morning American on CBS.
Lee Ann Womack and Darius Rucker will be hosting this year’s nominations, which will be announced at 8:30 am EDT on the morning program.
