We had a very busy weekend so I didn’t get to post this sooner, but didn’t Faith Hill do an amazing job at the Super Bowl on Sunday?

She performed “America the Beautiful” for the Super Bowl XLIII pregame show. She has also performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta.

Faith Hill looked absolutely stunning during her performance last night at the Neighborhood Inauguration Ball last night for President Obama and First Lady Michelle.

Faith sang “If My Heart Had Wings” from her 1999 album “Breathe.”

Faith Hill’s “A Baby Changes Everything” is getting a lot of air play on my local radio station lately!

It was the first single from her Christmas album, Joy to the World, and has already reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks.

The rumor from earlier this year has been revived! My local radio station is saying that Tim McGraw is considering a run for governor of Tennessee in 2010!

His reps aren’t commenting on it at all, which I think in itself might be a little telling, but Tim has had an interest in politics for a while, and Faith Hill seems to like the idea.

Hmmm… My biggest question is how this would affect a touring schedule!

This flashback is only going back eight years, but Faith Hill’s “The Way You Love Me” spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard charts in 2000.

It was the second single released from her album “Breathe,” as well as the second #1 from the album, following the success of the title track.

Tim and Faith will be hosting “Swampstock” on September 13 from their hometown of Rayville, LA.

The event is presented by Tim and Faith’s Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation and net proceeds from the activities will benefit the Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation’s local initiatives.

Guests will include Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, Halfway to Hazard, and of course Tim and Faith. During the same weekend Habitat for Humanity will be refurbishing the Rayville Recreation Center.

Tickets for Swampstock 2008 go on sale this Friday, August 22 for $30. They can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

It says a lot about a single when it’s still performed at concerts 13 years after it first became a hit! Tim McGraw’s “I Like It, I Love It” became his third number one hit in October 1995 and hung onto the top spot for five weeks.

During the performance at his concerts, Tim either puts his hand on his “Faith” tattoo on his arm or shows off his wedding band when he gets to the line “’til that girl got a hold of me.” Aww!

Hands up if you didn’t see this coming: American Idol finalist Kristy Lee Cook has been signed by Arista Nashville.

Kristy was the seventh place finalist for season 7 of the popular Fox show and was pegged early on as a country singer by Simon Cowell. Arista said they paid close attention to her after that and are looking forward to many hits from her.

Kristy cites LeAnn Rimes, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and Whitney Houston as her musical inspirations.

Faith Hill is gearing up to release her first Christmas album this September!

The long-awaited album will contain 10 Christmas classics like “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” “Holly Jolly Christmas,” and “Silent Night,” and one original song called “A Baby Changes Everything.”

Faith has been working on the album, titled “Joy to the World,” for two years and says:

“I had a very clear vision for the type of Christmas album that I wanted to make,” said Hill. “Indicative of the big band orchestras of the ’40s and ’50s, with a full compliment of horns, stings, woodwinds, percussion and chorales. David’s orchestrations were a gift. They embodied everything that I could have imaged; unique and beautiful, and yet they seem as though they were always intended for these songs.”

The album is set to drop September 16.
