Could Taylor Swift be the Next Miley Cyrus?

The director of Miley’s new movie, Hannah Montana: The Movie, thinks so!
Director Peter Chelsom said that after working with Taylor for a day on the set of the movie, he thinks she’s a natural and after watching her on the recent episode of CSI, he would offer her a job:
He explains, “She did a day in the Hannah Montana movie and I made a mental check to work with her again.”
“If she walked in the room right now, I would say, ‘Can we meet and talk about films you might want to do?’ I don’t have anything concrete, but I would be very keen to do something with her.”

Taylor Swift’s “Crazier” Music Video Debuts
The music video for Taylor Swift’s “Crazier” has been released! The song is on the soundtrack for the upcoming “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and clips of the movie are featured in the video.
Taylor wrote the song herself and appears in the video performing on stage at a small country dance.
The soundtrack, which also features performances from Rascal Flatts and Billy Ray Cyrus, was released this past week and the movie will be in theaters April 10.
Rascal Flatts to Appear in Hannah Montana Movie

Rascal Flatts is slated to appear in the upcoming Hannah Montana movie, aptly titled “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” The movie stars Miley Cyrus and dad/country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
The movie premise so far: “As Hannah Montana’s popularity begins to take over her life, Miley Stewart (Miley Ray Cyrus), on the urging form her father (Billy Ray Cyrus) takes a trip to her hometown of Crowley Corners, Tennessee to get some perspective on what matters in life the most.”
The movie is currently filming in the family’s home state of Tennessee and is due out in theaters in 2009.

Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Miley Cyrus performed at the CMT Music Awards last night in Nashville. Miley apparently had strep throat and doesn’t sound too great.
Cyrus Family to Host CMT Awards

Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Miley Cyrus of Hannah Montana fame will be hosting this year’s CMT Awards show, which airs April 14 on Country Music Television.
Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Toby Keith will be among the performers on the show, which will air live from the Belmont University’s Curb Event Center.
“Miley and I are so excited to be hosting the CMT Music Awards,” Cyrus said yesterday. “We know it will be a fun-filled night with a lot of great music performances.”
I can’t help but wonder if Billy Ray considers this a (phenomenal) second chance that has been laid at his feet thanks to his daughter or if he feels it’s just been nothing more than a 16 year break from the spotlight?
Miley Cyrus Talks About Dad Billy Ray Cyrus

Teen star Miley Cyrus will be appearing on ABC’s Oscar edition of “The Barbara Walters Special” on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. eastern. On the show she’ll be talking about life before Hannah Montana and performing with country superstar dad Billy Ray Cyrus.
“Life is a little different than the show because I don’t have the alter ego that I can escape to anymore,” she said. “I think the basis of the show is pretty much life. When I’m at home, it’s my friends, it’s my family.”
Clips from a previous appearance performing on the 22nd Annual Colgate Country Showdown National Final from a few years ago with Billy Ray will also air during the program.

Carrie Underwood to Perform on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve

Carrie Underwood will be performing on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2008 live from Times Square in New York.
Taylor Swift, Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus (Billy Ray Cyrus’s uber-talented daughter) and the Jonas Brothers will also be performing. Fergie, Akon, Natasha Bedingfield, Sean Kingston, OneRepublic, Plain White T’s and will.i.am will also make appearances. The show will be co-hosted again by Ryan Seacrest.
The show will be broadcast on ABC from 10-11pm, and will resume again at 11:35pm.
