It’s no secret that I adore Trisha Yearwood, and especially love her version of “Let It Snow,” above.

You can find it on her holiday album, “The Sweetest Gift.”

Flashback Friday: Garth Brooks

July 18, 2008 by Heather

“To Make You Feel My Love” became a hit for Garth Brooks on August 1, 1998. I can’t believe it’s been almost ten years!

It was actually originally written by Bob Dylan and was on his album “Time Out of Mind,” and has been covered by more than a dozen other artists since, including Trisha Yearwood (the version featuring her and Garth was on the 1998 Hope Floats soundtrack), Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson, and Neil Diamond.

Flashback Friday: Mary Chapin Carpenter

June 20, 2008 by Heather

The mega-wattage on this stage during Mary Chapin Carpenter’s live music video of “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her” from 1993 gives me the goosebumps!

Mary Chapin is joined onstage by Trisha Yearwood, Patty Loveless, Emmylou Harris, Kathy Mattea, Suzy Bogguss and Pam Tillis during a “Women of Country” special on CBS.

The song itself (which did not include the guest singers) was nominated for a Grammy and is said to have been inspired by a Geritol commercial from the 70’s wherein a man describes all of his wife’s accomplishments and ends with “My wife…I think I’ll keep her.” The song takes a different turn halfway through, though, when the woman throws the husband out!

Garth Brooks performed a medley of some of his greatest hits at last night’s ACM Awards and was joined onstage by wife Trisha Yearwood for one. He also won the Crystal Lifetime Award.

Below is his little goof with Reba that I mentioned last night!

Garth Brooks won the Crystal Milestone Award tonight and performed a medley of some of his hits (and had a cute goof when thanking Reba for presenting!), and Trisha Yearwood joined him on-stage for “In Another’s Eyes”. It was so good to see her!

Trisha Yearwood at the 1997 CMA’s singing How Do I Live.

Personally, I’ve always liked her version better than LeAnn Rimes’. What do you think?
