Tim McGraw: “If You’re Reading This”
Tim McGraw’s “If You’re Reading This” is a tribute to the families of soldiers who have died. It was first performed at the Academy of Country Music Awards last year, and several radio stations replayed the telecast afterward, boosting the unsolicited single to a debut at #35 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. A remixed recording was later released as a single and peaked at #3.
When McGraw performed the song at the ACMs, one hundred relatives of soldiers joined him onstage, under a banner that read “Families of Fallen Heroes.”
Tim co-wrote the song with brothers Brad and Brett Warren.
